It's Officially, Official...

We finally have our house up for sale. (did anyone think I was going to put something else??) We have loved living in our current neighborhood. Growing up in the country made me so excited to get out once I finally was married and moved to the city (maybe, I should use town, because Cheyenne is quite small compared to where many of you reside). It is so nice to be close to conveniences like the grocery store, gas station, bank, have neighbors that aren't more than a 3 min walk away, and walking to school, plus having family right down the street! We love living next to Mike & Amanda so much and this is one of the things we are going to miss most. Tai and Kaila are best buds, Kuhio and Kalea, too. I love that Kuhio comes and picks Kalea up for school every morning and they accompany each other home as well! However, as much as I loved all of these things, I find myself yearning for my piece of prairie, especially, now that I am raising kids. I want wide open spaces for them to run around on, for me to yell and know that my neighbors had no clue, and most importantly to see my sweet husband more. That is probably the biggest reason! Come summer our lives are beyond hectic and many days we won't even see Danny because he is up at the crack of dawn and home late because he was at the shop working. We purchased land out North of town a few years back and since built our shop out there. We are finally ready to get our house going as well! We or rather I have decided to sell our house FSBO. A little scary, but realtors fees are a hard "pill" to swallow. Good thing for modern conveniences....the internet, namely! So we will see how this goes, after all this is a want....we don't have to move...but it is something we would like to do. It's been a long time...

Not only has it been a long time that I have posted on my blog...but this last weekend we were able to be in Texas for the blessing of David's newest addition, Noa. We had a blast and it was so nice to get out of the cold, windy Wyoming weather and enjoy more pleasant temperatures! It has also been over 5 years since all of us siblings have been together! It was so nice to be with all of my brother's and sister and parents. We did miss having everybody's families there, but I will take what we had!

We went to Whole Foods in Austin and ate lunch....love to eat at this place, the chocolate mousse is divine, I had the teriyaki salmon with rice and veggies, yum!

We also went to play at a few amusement parks. This is one of my fav. pics...they boys into the motorcycle game, of course, and little Tai looking like an expert. Tai was in heaven at this place...could have gone all night, but after throwing himself on the floor and crying (us laughing at him) we finally got him out and in the car.
We ate at a great BBQ pit, Rudy's, AWESOME! Wishing we had one in Cheyenne! We also met up with a good friends, Natalie and Justin, at Rudy's other franchise, Mighty Fine Burgers! The kids loved these restaurants because of the hand washing machines...they were pretty cool! They also had a great selection of bottled sodas.

On June 19 we were saddened to find that our beloved Bruiser had died. A tragic accident of him being too friendly with dogs much bigger than he. We loved Bruiser so much and have so many fond memories of him. I am going to miss him coming running out the garage door every time we came home and being soo excited to see us. I miss him being our cleaner of food off the floors. I will miss him being carried everywhere by the Kalea and Tai and the neighbor kids. I miss his excitement and his exuberance. I will miss finding mutilated Barbie's and other various toys underneath Kalea's bed. He was so outgoing and loved to visit all the neighbors but was very protective of us. We love you Bruiser and miss you terribly....we can be together, forever someday!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an
animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet

I can hardly believe the holidays just zipped right by and it is 2009! Has it seriously been 9 years since the turn of the century? Seems like just yesterday! I am trying to regain my energy and get back into the swing of things. Billy and Dave's families were able to join us this Christmas/New Years. What a blast, but exhausting! We had so much fun getting all the grand kids together--what a sight all ten of them were!
They had so much fun together. We spent 10 days altogether and had various activities planned. Each night one of the families was assigned to make dinner for everyone--awesome--I didn't have to make dinner almost all week and let alone clean my kitchen. We did a talent show for FHE. We put on an encore presentation of Kalea's ballet recital, "Good Ship Lollipop." Kalea stole the show but Danny almost did too!

Billy's family did some kind of kitchen pot skit:Mike's family (minus Amanda, who had to work, so sad!) showed off their talents, Kuhio with his amazing art skills, Kaila and her dance moves, and Mike with his second language vocal styling!
Tia and Will did a skit on Mom and Dad--hilarious! They dressed like them and all, but the originals are definitely the BEST! Dave and Liz did a "Name that Tune" as Dave played on the guitar (I won!). We jammed with Guitar Hero, played sports at the Stake Center, watched Bedtime Stories, went to Jumpin' and Lasertag in Loveland, brought in the New Year, joined Dad & Mom at their ward sacrament meeting, and ultimately just enjoyed being with each other! We definitely missed out on having our Elder, Seth, around but, it was so good to hear from him. We can hardly believe he will be finishing up his mission this year--and we are definitely excited to see him again...he is one awesome missionary though!

CHRISTMAS 2008
Christmas this past year was so exciting. It is so much fun to have kids and see their eyes light up and all the excitement Christmas brings. We enjoy Christmas Eve every year with Danny's family at his parents home. It was exciting to have all of us together, especially for Randalyn and Marc to fly home from England to join us! We enjoyed a night of baking, eating, and exchanging gifts. I have never seen so many BIG presents under--or rather around a Christmas tree. Dan and Susies gave all of the kid's families food storage. Needless to say, to put the cans and pouches in a box and wrap made for the huge gifts, it was a great idea and much needed! As we were packing up the car and heading back home, Kalea and I looked up in the sky to see if we could catch Santa--to our amazement we saw a red blinking light way up high that could only mean that it was Rudolph lighting the way! What a real treat for Kalea; she shared this experience with some of her cousins that were a little disbelieving until I confirmed what we saw.
Christmas morning is so great around our house still because the kids still sleep in. After enjoying presents, we rushed off to help serve food at the Salvation Army. It was a great experience for all! I enjoyed so much being with family especially at such a special time of year. It is so great to know that our families are eternal and to know the greatest gift that we have been give is Christ's Atonement for us--we are truly blessed! On a side note, I just read Glenn Beck's book, TheChristmas Sweater; outstanding! I loved the message behind the story.
So here I am, eight days past the New Year and still have in hand my "Happy Holidays" photo card to send out. How embarrassing that they will be late coming out, but nonetheless, coming!

I could hardly BELIEVE that we had a nice, mild Halloween to celebrate. Almost, always, it has either snowed or is Bitter cold. We were able to wear a light jacket and the kids wore their costumes in all their glory. Kalea was a "Snow Princess" and Tai went as Mr. T.

A Year Ago Today...

Happy, Happy, Birthday to my little Tai!! I can hardly believe you are 1 year old today. It makes me sad and happy at the same time. I love that you are so much like your daddy...happy, cuddly, determined...you make my heart melt! You have brought so much joy into our lives and we look forward to many more birthdays with you! Thank you for finally deciding your crib was a nicer place to sleep than our bed and deciding it was a waste of time to wake up during the night when you could have such pleasant dreams all night long! You are constantly making us laugh...Kalea especially loves that you love to jam to her Hannah Montana cd with pleasure. Bruiser loves that you remember him when you are eating and always throw him some food and Dad loves that you are so excited and happy when he comes home! We love you eternally!!

Kalea had her dance recital this past weekend. She was so good and so cute! Unfortunately, we had torrential rains (2 inches in 2 hours) that ended up flooded the Civic Center where the girls were to perform. We ended up and one of the school district's auditoriums and the girls had to do two shows instead of one because of limited seating. It was a LONG day. The first show ran about 2 1/2 hours and they had a small break to eat pizza and then were on again. I came away with a headache, but the girls were still going. Who knew that there were so many fascets to having a daughter in a dance recital. Obviously, not this mother. I felt so unprepared. Everyone came with flowers and things to do while the girls were backstage--oh, well, it will be better next year. Anyway, Kalea did awesome front and center.

We celebrated 7 years on Sunday, June 29! Holy Cow! Too bad we really didn't do anything. Saturday, I ended up with a sinus infection and flu (yes, flu, in June!!) and Danny hurt cut his ankle on the shower door and it was inflamed. We were pitiful. We did however, have friends in from out of town and had lunch with a few other couples after church. I need to take a couple lines and roast my husband because he his as good as it gets! He is the best, a few words to describe him...kind, happy, hard worker, loving, selfless, obedient, honest, fun...just to name a few. He has been such a rock in my life. I could not imagine my life without my sweet husband! He makes life worth living and loving. I love you for eternity!

I can hardly believe I have a 5 year old! Kalea is such a good girl! She is helpful, determined, compassionate, imaginative, beautiful, the best BIG sis, and a daddy's girl (finally)! As of now, she is outside practicing to ride without training wheels on her little bike because she got a bigger one for her birthday. She doesn't give up and can ride for a bit, but gets too distracted to see if anyone else sees her accomplishment! We love you Kalea!

Captured & Consumed

I finally went to Wal-Mart and got my hands on the book, "Twilight," by Stephanie Meyer. I had heard bits and pieces about it, but finally Tia got my curiosity going. I have to say I am totally consumed with this book. It is awesome! I have to literally pull myself away because I have other things that are more pressing to do, but whenever there is a free moment, my eyes and mind are totally consumed with the characters. I am not an avid reader, so a book really has to get my attention. Another of my all time favorites are C. S. Lewis's, "Narnia." Remember President Hinckley's Book of Mormon challenge. Well, as I was a late comer to get the BOM read by the end of the year, which I started in late November, I ended up dreaming about everything that I was reading. I found myself in the forests running from the battles around me. Well, that too happened when I read the Narnia series. I get so "captured & consumed" that I dream about it. So, many times I was living in Narnia having conversations with Lucy. Now I am dreaming about "Twilight." So to make my point, if I am dreaming about the current book I am reading, it must be good. As a side note, "Twilight" will be coming to the big screen at the end of this year, so get a "jump start" on it now, you won't be disappointed!. How about you, what are your favs?

We went to Orlando for Alani's baptism. It was so much fun. It was nice to be in warm weather, see green grass again, and wear shorts. Alani was so excited to get baptized by her dad. Her sister Maile sang a musical number that was beautiful . CTR!

So, after our tea party as mom was getting ready to go she couldn't find her car keys anywhere. We looked everywhere, retraced her steps, called Tia thinking they ended up in her car as mom was putting the kids in, but to her dismay, nothing! She ended up taking my car home to get another set of keys for her car. After she left, I kept looking everywhere. Later that night, I was cleaning up after dinner and ran the garbage disposal. What do you know, there they were in the garbage disposal...unharmed.

Tea Party

Kalea has been bugging me to have a "tea" party with her. So instead of doing a make believe one we invited her grandmas over and her aunt Chelsea and Tia and cousins Ekena and William. We had so much fun. Kalea made everyone a place mat. We munched on egg salad sandwiches, cucumber/cream cheese sandwiches; Kalea made everyone fruit cups complete with mandarin oranges, bananas, yogurt and granola. She was so proud of her efforts. Since she worked so hard on preparing everything she actually ate all of her lunch before dessert--a real feat, since she has a BIG sweet tooth.

Today, was going well, until this afternoon Tai went into a crying rampage (a first for him). I thought he was overly tired, which probably just added to the dilemma, but I guess it is also about that time for him to be popping some teeth. He kept gagging on his hand because he was gnawing on it so hard and flicking his tongue off his gums. After none of that sufficed him, it started. He cried and cried and cried. I tried nursing him, putting his pacifier in, let him suck on a wet rag, finally we took a bath because he loves that and that calmed him down. His poor face was red and splotchy from crying so hard, poor thing. After the bath and while getting him dressed he started all over again. In a panic, I got the Infants Tylenol out to give to him. It has been so long since I have had to use this. Question. Why on the box do they put "Infant Tylenol" and then in a little bubble they put for 2-3 year olds. I don't remember calling my 2 year old an infant anymore. The dosage didn't show what I should give him because he was under 24 lbs. Thank goodness for Amanda, who I called to think for me (it is so hard to think with a screaming baby). She set me straight. I gave Tai the medicine and hoped for the best, if anything I knew it would make him sleep. Finally, I got him to sleep and not 20 minutes later was he up again. Then I remembered how this exact same thing happened to Kalea with her first couple teeth and how we used Baby Orajel. Didn't have Baby Orajel just regular, ran and got it, rubbed it on his gums and he was out a second later. Hallelujah! I am exhausted!

Tai is 4 months already. He is growing so fast and has fattened right up. I love it! He is such a happy, easy baby, although he does drool an unusually large amount and spits up, which Kalea never did. He looks just like Kalea in her baby pictures, but is also a spitting image of his dad, which Danny loves. All of us are just so enamored with him and glad he made us a family of 4 going into 2008!

So we just purchased a "Bumbo" for Tai (among all the other baby paraphernalia we have accumulated) and love it. He looks so cute and you can tell he feels like a "bigger boy" being able to sit up. Funny thing, Kalea fits in it too. She uses it as her seat in front of the tv. Such a funny looking thing, but neat anyhow.

Last night Kalea came downstairs to Danny and I with this piece of paper that she had written an 800 # on. At first I didn't understand what she was saying to me and then she says, "Mom, it's for you to call to get out of credit card debt." What? How does she know about that stuff? Kalea, actually really loves infomercials. She really wants that pancake popper skillet thing and the chop wizard. She knows all about them, and says they will make cooking so much fun and easy.

After dinner tonight we had to run to Target to get a birthday present for cousin Ethan. Kalea and I raced to the doors and as fast as she is (she did beat me), she also had to say hi to the pavement with her face. OUCH! We ran in to the bathroom to repair her bloody nose and face. I am so surprised that Kalea does not get freaked out when she looks at her many battle wounds as it seems they all have to occur on her face. She already has two dents in her forehead from previous misshaps. We got her cleaned up and went and got cool Bratz Girlz band-aids and she asked before I got the band-aid out if we should ask the Target people if they would mind if she used one before we paid...so honest & considerate!

Okay, so one of these days I will have the time to get the laundry done, make sure my family gets fed, brush my teeth, pay the bills on time, exercise and finally blog. As for now, I need to make lunch, Tai is screaming to eat and I am down to typing with one hand, I still have 4 loads of laundry to fold and my pants are feeling tighter! However, my teeth did get brushed, but blogging, once again, is still going at a snails pace and I will learn how to make my page as cool as everyone else's someday!
